Install

The pinned skills@1.5.25 installer requires Node.js 22.20.0 or newer. Run it from your application directory and name your agent with -a, for example Claude Code:

pnpm dlx skills@1.5.25 add https://ui.siteplane.io -a claude-code

For Codex or Cursor, use codex or cursor in place of claude-code. With npm, use npx skills@1.5.25 add https://ui.siteplane.io -a claude-code. Keep -a when your agent runs the command. Started by an agent, the installer skips its prompts, and without -a it can install the skill for every agent it supports. In your own terminal, you can leave out -a and select your agent in the installer.

Install into the project so its instructions travel with the application. Use --list to inspect available skills without installing them.

The public discovery index exposes the skill as a downloadable archive with an integrity digest. The archive includes SKILL.md, focused references and agent metadata. It is built from the skill's own files. Installing it needs no access to the Siteplane UI source repository.

What the agent receives

Read the skill entrypoint directly. It guides the agent through project detection, registry search, source inspection, installation and composition. References cover component selection, the component catalog, forms, overlays, collections, application examples, styling conventions and source updates.

The instructions use the shadcn CLI and MCP integration, while explaining Siteplane UI’s actual APIs. For example, Siteplane UI Button supports loading, Dialog uses a render trigger, and Table uses collection IDs. Familiarity with shadcn does not replace reading the installed Siteplane UI source.

Use in an application

Complete project setup, then request a concrete feature such as a team settings page. The skill should lead the agent to the Team settings example and its component APIs before changing application code.

If the host does not automatically activate installed skills, invoke siteplane-ui using that host’s skill mechanism or provide the entrypoint directly. A successful installation verifies the files are available; automatic selection remains host-dependent.

Update

To update the skill, run the install command again with the same agents, for example pnpm dlx skills@1.5.25 add https://ui.siteplane.io -a claude-code. The installer replaces the installed copy with the current skill. A bare skills update can update every installed skill, global ones included; to update only this skill in your project, run pnpm dlx skills@1.5.25 update siteplane-ui -p.

Updating the skill does not update installed component source. Review component changes separately with the shadcn CLI and preserve application customizations.
